Biblical Counseling.

Are you considering whether you should seek counseling because of a difficult situation or guidance through tough times and life changing decisions? Well, the bible says in Psalm 1:1-3 "Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper." (New King James Version)

I believe that God desires us to seek Him for every answer and for every need. Sometimes we need a little help from a brother or sister in the Lord in order to get moving in the right direction. The bible is clear, God desires us to minister to one another in love. At Calvary Chapel of Clayton the ultimate goal is to:

  • Seek the guidance of the Lord through prayer and His word.
  • Deal with the heart of the situation creating the need.
  • Begin following the Lords path to change and continued growth.

If you need help, please call the church office at (919) 359-0802, or e-mail to schedule an appointment.

One of the most important gifts that we receive from God is the opportunity to enter into the throne room in heaven through prayer. The church began in prayer (Acts 1:14) and continued in prayer daily (Acts 2:42-3:1, 12:5). The Bible consistently exhorts us to live a life of prayer, (Eph 6:18, Phil 4:6-7, Col 4:2, 1Thes 5:17-18, 1Tim 2:8,, James 1:6-8, James 5:16, 1John 5:14).

In fact, all of the great revivals and movements of the Holy Spirit, throughout the history of the church, began with prayer and repentance. Yet prayer is the most neglected thing in the church today. However, here at Calvary Chapel of Clayton, leadership is committed to fostering a church culture of prayer. We do that by including corporate prayer in our Wednesday night Bible study time, our small group meetings, all leadership meetings and occasionally during our Sunday morning worship service.

If you have a prayer request, there are two ways of submitting it:

You can email us at or you can use the prayer request tear-off portion of our giving envelopes located on the walls by the sanctuary doors and place them in the “My Offering” boxes. Our elders meet once per week to pray for all of the prayer requests we receive. Please give us the opportunity to pray for you and lift your need up before the Lord.

Your servant in Christ,

Pastor Kevin

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." -Matthew 28:19

Jesus left two ordinances for Christians to do here on earth. They are communion and baptism. Both are reserved for people who have willingly and personally accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Baptism is an act of obedience for the believer. It is also a symbol of the believer’s identification with Jesus’ life, death and resurrection as described by Paul in Romans 6:3-4.

The believer testifies in baptism that he/she was in Christ when He was judged for our sin, buried with Him and raised to newness of life. Baptism is an outward expression of an inward profession. The person being baptized is communicating to those around them what has taken place in their hearts.

At least twice per year at Calvary Chapel of Clayton, we offer the opportunity to be baptized. Before a baptism service, we hold a short baptism class so that those being baptized fully understand the meaning of the ordinance.

It is important to note that we do not baptize infants; instead we dedicate them to the Lord.

Baby Dedications

"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord." -Psalm 127:3

At CCClayton, we do not baptize infants. The Bible teaches that Baptism is reserved for the believer, one who has confessed Jesus as their Lord and Savior. An infant is obviously too young to make that profession of faith. However, we do dedicate our young children to the Lord.

Baby dedications are held during our 11 a.m. service on Sundays as acknowledgement that we receive our children from the Lord. It is a time when we then give, or dedicate, our children back to Him. We pray for the child as well as the parents and ask God to give the parents wisdom in raising the child and ask of the Lord that the child would grow to love and serve Him. Later, when the child accepts Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior they are then able to be baptized.

Contact the church office to schedule your baby dedication.

Marriage is a wonderful gift of God and weddings can be one of the most joyous events of our lives. However, every marriage faces challenges and many fail due to lack of understanding and preparation. If you think you have found, "the one", we strongly encourage you to seek out godly counsel before moving forward. The Bible says that marriage is God's Holy Institution which He loves. It's for this reason that we believe God has a plan for every marriage and He desires to help you build a beautiful life together, one that glorifies Him and blesses you.

Pre-Marital Counseling

We require six sessions of pre-marital counseling prior to the wedding ceremony. This is to establish a foundation for godly marriage, prepare couples for the challenges that they will face and prayerfully set couples up for success. In order to make our time more beneficial, we use a marriage workbook which requires some homework between sessions.

Marriage Counseling

Even strong marriages need to be occassionally cultivated and strengthened. For this reason, we have a marriage fellowship which meets throughout the year. The fellowship encourages married couples through worship, prayer, communion and the counsel of God's Word with a special emphasis on practical application. Private counseling is also available and can be scheduled by calling the church at (919) 359-0802 or emailing us at
